No, lightening, bleaching, or coloring your hair a lighter shade than your current color is absolutely not possible with Ayluna Cinnamon Brown No. 70 (or any other natural plant-based hair dye). Because botanical pigments work by layering on top of the hair shaft rather than stripping your hair's natural melanin, this peroxide-free warm brown hair color can only enrich, deepen, or add warm reflections to your existing color.
The recommended processing time is between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on your unique hair structure and desired color intensity. Fine, light, or chemically treated hair develops color much more quickly and requires less time, whereas thick, dark, or exceptionally healthy hair requires a longer application for full color development. Because individual hair chemistry varies, running a small test strand first is highly recommended to determine your precise processing time and avoid unexpected color shifts.
Pour the powder into a bowl and gradually mix one package with approximately 300 ml of hot or warm water using a fork or whisk until it forms a thick, creamy paste that does not drip. The temperature of the water directly impacts the final color tone:
For a cooler cinnamon brown tone (without strong red reflections): Mix the paste with warm water at exactly 50°C to 60°C.
For a warmer, richer cinnamon tone: Mix the powder with hotter water between 60°C and 90°C.
Tip: Be sure to protect your clothes with an old towel or cape, as organic indigo-henna mix stains can be very difficult to remove.
Yes, a beautiful and natural-looking concealing of gray hair can be achieved with Cinnamon Brown No. 70. Because plant-based dyes act as a semi-transparent glaze, gray or white strands will color slightly lighter than your pigmented hair, creating a natural, multi-tonal highlight effect.
However, if your hair is more than 40% gray and you want to achieve a reliable dark brown shade, a two-step pre-pigmentation process is recommended. First, dye your hair with an Ayluna red shade (such as Copper Red No. 40 or Maroon Red No. 50) and let it process for about 30 minutes to build a warm foundation. Directly afterwards or on the next day, apply Cinnamon Brown No. 70 to ensure the warm brown pigments bond evenly to your gray roots.
Do not panic, and do not wash your hair with shampoo. A temporary greenish tinge immediately after rinsing is a completely normal part of the botanical coloring process. This occurs when natural, indigo-rich plant pigments react with the oxygen in the air.
