First: Coloring sample strand
To make sure the dye result is in line with your expectations, paint a sample strand first. Choose an area where your hair is the lightest or has the highest gray content. Stir about a tablespoon of paint and apply it according to the instructions below. Are you satisfied with the result? Then you can start coloring.
Step 1 — Preparing
Wash your hair with one of our mild shampoos so that the plant hair color adheres optimally. If you often use styling or conventional care products, it is best to use Ayluna Ghassoul to remove residue. Do not use care products such as conditioner or hair treatment before dyeing.
Step 2 — Stir
Put the plant hair color in a container and gradually stir it with hot water* (about 300 ml for a pack) to a thick porridge. The mixture should be creamy and drip little. Protect your clothes with a hairdressing cape or an old towel.
*The temperature affects the color result. The warmer the water, the warmer the hue.
Step 3 — Apply
Once the color has cooled to a comfortable temperature, apply it evenly to your hair strand by strand with a dye brush, starting at the roots. Knead the paint lightly to reach all the places. Put the cover on and wrap a towel around it. Remove any color residue from the face, ears and neck.
Step 4 — Let it work
The exposure time for Ayluna plant hair colors is 15 minutes to 2 hours. The sample strand shows you exactly how long you need. Basically, very light or damaged hair needs less time, dark or healthy hair more. Make sure that the color does not dry out during the exposure time.
Step 5 — Rinse
Rinse the plant hair color thoroughly with plenty of water without using shampoo or care products. The color develops optimally in the next 48 hours, and a possible green tint disappears. Wash your hair with shampoo after 24-48 hours at the earliest. For extra care, you can use Ayluna Hair Oil before the first shampoo wash.
