Chlorella algae are minute green algae measuring only one hundredth millimetre. It owes its striking green colour to its natural chlorophyll contents. “Small and green” are the characteristics of these microalgae. The name Chlorella is a translation of “small and green”. Chlorella grows in fresh water and is ball-shaped. The outer shell is made of cellulose, and inside it offers a wide spectre of nutrients including iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid (vit. B9).
