Lip Care – Delicate and Natural

Lips are one of the most noticeable and emotionally expressive parts of the face, especially by smiling or talking. That's why we always strive to make them look perfect. However, caring for thin, delicate lip skin can be challenging. Unlike other areas of the skin, there are no sebaceous and sweat glands on the lips that provide natural lubrication. In cold weather, wind or bright sunlight, they quickly lose smoothness, becoming rough and prone to painful cracks.

Regular face creams are not suitable for lip care, as they can enter to the mouth and be swallowed, which is unsafe. Therefore, lip products must meet special requirements.

Many people note that mass-produced lipsticks, especially glosses, can cause irritation and dryness. This is often due to the inclusion of irritating dyes in their formulations. Additionally, these products often contain mineral oils or silicones that form a film on the lips. With regular use, these substances can exacerbate dryness and discomfort, creating a vicious circle: the more we apply them, the worse our lips feel.

High-quality lip care products are based on natural oils and waxes that prevent moisture loss. Rich-textured ingredients such as cocoa butter and shea butter are commonly used as lipid components. They melt on contact with the lips, leaving a pleasant sensation of smoothness and softness. Among the natural waxes, beeswax is the most well-known. It is rich in valuable compounds that enhance local immunity and protect against bacteria.

Plant waxes such as carnauba, candelilla and those derived from the surface of some fruits are also widely used. These waxes help fruits and leaves retain moisture and freshness, and also have a similar effect on lips. They are especially common in vegan lip care formulas.

Castor oil is another popular ingredient, known for giving elasticity to dry and rough lips, making it one of the main of many lip balms.

Thanks to the use of solid butters and waxes, natural lip balms are convenient to produce in the form of sticks. This format is both practical and hygienic, as it is easy to carry and apply without using fingers.

Tinted lip care products that offer a light coloring effect are also very popular — they can be a full-fledged alternative to traditional lipsticks and gloss.

For quick recovery of damaged lips, there are special SOS products. In addition to nourishing oils and waxes, they often contain powerful healing ingredients such as kidney vetch extract.
