Sunburn

Sunburn

Signs:

Symptoms of sunburn typically appear 3-6 hours after sun exposure:

  • The skin becomes red.
  • The pain occurs upon touching.
  • Itching, burning, and tightness sensations are felt.
  • Blisters may develop.

Within 1-7 days, the redness subsides and a tan forms. However, the long-term consequences of sunburn persist: the collagen quality deteriorates, and theres an increased risk of hyperpigmentation, premature aging and skin lesions.

Causes:

Sunburn is an inflammatory reaction of the skin in response to ultraviolet rays. It is more noticeable in people with fair skin. The further south the area is and the closer to midday, the more ultraviolet radiation the skin receives and the more pronounced the sunburn.

Solution:

  • Limit time spent in bright sunlight in the middle of the day.
  • Apply sunscreen to your skin before going out in the sun. Renew it every two hours.
  • After sunbathing, treat your skin with a soothing product - for example, with aloe gel.

Most often, cosmetic products for sunburn preventing and treatment include such ingredients as:

  • Zinc oxide
  • Argan oil
  • Cocos oil
  • Karanji oil
  • Carrot seed extract
  • Aloe vera gel
